This week we shipped faster boot times, 3.6x faster deployments, zero-downtime rescaling, wildcard domains, and SSH file transfer support.

Faster Performance

Servers now boot in 2 seconds, and deployments are up to 3.6x faster than before. We also reduced system overhead significantly, which means more CPU and memory are available for your apps.

Zero-Downtime Rescaling

You can now scale up your server's resources without any downtime. Your app keeps running the entire time. Check out the scaling docs for details.

Wildcard Domain Support

We now support wildcard domains. You can point *.example.com at your server and handle all subdomains from your app. See the wildcard domains docs for setup instructions.

SCP, SFTP, and Rsync via SSH

You can now transfer files to and from your server using SCP, SFTP, or Rsync over SSH. Learn more in the SSH docs.

Improved Stability Under High Load

We made several improvements to how servers behave under heavy load, resulting in better overall stability.

Rollout

All new servers include these updates already. Over the next few weeks, we'll migrate existing servers so they benefit from these improvements as well.
